We called our weekend in Charlottesville our anniversary celebration. We did a lot of things and really enjoyed ourselves. We drove down Thursday morning and ate lunch at Michie's Tavern. The food was so good. Everyone who worked there wore colonial time clothing. A little pricey for lunch, but we're glad we went!
After we ate lunch we headed to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's estate. It was amazing! We really enjoyed the architecture of the home he designed and learning so much about his life. He was truly an inspired man.
This machine I'm looking through, is kinda like a projector of sorts. The picture below is what Mitch could see when I sat in the chair a few feet in front of the machine. It's hard to explain.
We had a really good day at Monticello taking the tours and walking around the grounds. There was so much to see on Jefferson's 'little mountain'.

I went to Monticello when I was 17 and thought it was fascinating! He was very smart and I didn't realize what an inventor he was!!
