ONE YEAR!
We made it, we officially have a one year old!
As Avery's first birthday approached I found myself thinking back to a year ago often. I thought all about how much I'd prepared for a baby, and how things have been very different than expected but absolutely wonderful too. Mostly I thought about how blessed we were this year to actually have Avery home and healthy on Thanksgiving. She will always be a miracle to us and events like a birthday are great ways to remember how truly blessed we are to have her in our lives.
Weight: 20 lbs (34%)
Height: 29.75 in (73%)
HC: 18 in
Teeth: 2
Could she be any cuter?! We had a simple birthday with some presents, a cake (she wasn't a fan of the sticky frosting), and Skyping with family. Avery had a blast playing with the balloons all day and loves her new toys! She has been cruising all around with her walking toy. It has been giving her the confidence to try to stand without holding on to anything the last few days. Not there yet, but we like that she's willing to try new things.
Avery babbles ALL the time! She has also started making all sorts of different sounds with her mouth. It really seems like she's trying to figure out how to talk. The only thing she says that sounds anything like a word is "mum mum mum". Who knows if she's really trying to say mom, but I like to think so!
Avery is always moving. She's a little busy body and still loves to climb all over us. She also loves to eat still. She still enjoys her purees but is getting more interested in real food. Her favorites are currently toast, broccoli and anything mom and dad are eating after she's done eating. She's a great eater so we really don't have anything to complain about. Other than when she decides to wipe her tray 'clean', with food all over it still.
We love our little ball of energy so much! She has turned into a great sleeper. She loves to wave to everyone. She somehow always knows when the bathroom door accidentally gets left open. She gets upset when Dad goes to work and loves when he comes home. She loves books and playing with her toys, just as long as we're there to play with her.
We love her sweet cheeks and contagious smile that fills our home with love!
