Difficult decisions in July 2018

We had an unbelievably busy month of July in 2018. We didn't go out of town as a family. But we did spend a lot of time thinking, praying, researching, and praying, questioning, discussing, and praying. This is a difficult story to explain. The decisions we made sound crazy, but we felt strongly that the choices we made came from answers and good feelings as we prayed for guidance from our Heavenly Father.

Mitch came home one night in April and told me about a job with Deloitte in San Diego working on a project for the Navy. It would significantly improve work hours and allow him to be home more. It was the first time a job prospect he told me about sounded so good. It sounded great and we started getting information and planned on taking the job. Then all of a sudden he found another job opportunity in Arizona. This job sounded like exactly the kind of work Mitch was looking for AND we would be able to buy a house. Which we REALLY want to do! The interviews went great, he flew there and had a great interview and everything seemed to be lining up perfectly. They basically made us think he had the job, but didn't have an official offer. We still had the San Diego job in our back pocket to fall back on.

We knew we were moving, we just didn't know where! Sounds crazy, and it was crazy! I packed our apartment and we made as many preparations as we could while we waited on the official word from the AZ job. We made plans to spend time with family as we moved so we were slightly flexible.
The day before we packed the POD we finally got the official word that the AZ job had decided not to hire anyone right then. Which made our "decision" final in moving to San Diego. We felt strongly that we needed to move before the baby came. We packed our apartment, Avery and I got on an airplane to Washington, and Mitch stayed a few more days to wrap things up and then drove our car by himself across the country to Cocolalla, ID.

Throughout all of the craziness I continued to grow a baby! And we said goodbye to a lot of amazing friends! But those fun moments get posts of their own.
