Mitch's mom came in town last weekend for a visit. We had a packed weekend but it was so much fun!
She arrived Friday afternoon and we had a delicious dinner at Clyde's. (After we finally found it using our GPS. Phones are helpful with GPS, but sometimes difficult.) Then we stopped by Cheesecake Factory to get dessert on the way home!
Saturday started with a trip to Great Falls. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed being outside most of the day. We live about 20 minutes away from Great Falls. And we got to drive by some HUGE houses. I have no doubt some of my students live in those houses.
Then we drove to the National Arboretum. They were having a chili pepper festival. They had a number of tables set up with different foods people made with peppers. I didn't try very many because they were all hot. But I think Mitch and Sandra enjoyed it! It was cool to see all of the different peppers growing in the Herb Garden.
We walked around some more and found these columns. Interesting place to put them, but I guess they needed space.
After that we headed to the National Mall and walked around the Natural History Museum for awhile before it closed. (Once we finally found a parking spot.) We didn't have time to see everything. But we had fun! I think my favorite part was actually the photography exhibit. They had all of these pictures of animals and nature that people had won awards with. They were amazing photos! We also got to see the Hope Diamond. There were so many people crowded around it!
We ended the day eating dinner at the Banana Cafe and it was really good!!
Sunday we had church and the General Primary President, Sister Wixom, was in our ward! She talked to the kids for a few minutes during sharing time. But she also came into our class for the last few minutes of the lesson! Along with a member of our primary presidency and the Bishop! I was so nervous! The boys in our class are totally crazy, but of course they were perfect while they were there! After church we relaxed with games and a movie.
We had so much fun with mom last weekend! We were so happy to have her here!
