Labor Day in NYC

Monday we ventured out into the city on our own. By this time we felt like we could navigate the subway system, and we did do a pretty good job! We started the day by walking part of the Brookyn Bridge. Then we went to see the Empire State Building. Then we walked around and found a small Korean place for lunch. We were adventurous but it turned out to be pretty good! Then we headed to FAO Schwartz. It is such an awesome store! We spent a long time looking at everything there. Then we headed back to the Belnap's to get out stuff together and get ready for the evening. We headed to Times Square to see the party there with two places for dinner in mind. Turns out both places were closed for Labor Day! Luckily being in New York there is no shortage of places to eat. So we found a little place with a good looking menu and ended up having a very good dinner together! After dinner we went to the Phantom of the Opera! It was so good! The singers were absolutely amazing! I was particularly impressed with Raul, but Christine and Phantom were stunning too. The lady who played Christine was who Andrew Lloyd Webber hand picked for Phantom's 25th Anniversary, so yes, she was good!! After the show we drove late into the night to make it part way home so we didn't have to go the whole way early in the morning. (I was especially grateful to sleep in an air conditioned hotel that night! I was so hot all weekend! Thank you pregnancy!)

We took these two pictures particularly for Lori. She "really loves" these rice krispies treats!
And we couldn't help but think the girls would be in heaven in this dress up section of the store!

We had a great time in New York City! We are so grateful to the Belnap's for letting us stay with them. Saving that money enabled us to experience Broadway and so many other things over the weekend! We are so glad we took this opportunity to make a trip to New York!
