Christmas in Kennewick and New Years in Olympia

We were able to enjoy another long holiday break. We flew in and out of Seattle, so we started off in Olympia and ended in Olympia with a drive over to Kennewick in the middle. The weather caused us to be a little more strategic in our drives across the state, but we made it both directions safely.

To start our trip Elayna and Avery flew through Chicago and survived the flights without Dad. Mitch was at a training in Colorado so he ended up meeting us in Seattle a few hours after we arrived. Our vacation started a little rough with Avery getting sick and throwing up at church and then passing the sickness to Mitch. We still had fun eating good food, playing games, playing with cousins and Grandma and Grandpa, and visiting the Children's Museum. Thankfully the sickness didn't last too long and we didn't get anyone else sick.

After a few days we drove to Kennewick to spend Christmas with the Hague's. We had so much fun with everyone we were able to see. We finally got to go ride the carousel and even saw a reindeer! Avery had a magical Christmas morning all focused on her and then we joined the rest of the group for family presents. Avery got to experience playing in the snow for the first time and, thanks to dad, mom stayed inside and enjoyed the view.

After almost a week we headed back to Olympia, narrowly avoiding freezing rain. We enjoyed a few more days relaxing with family and celebrating New Years all together. We love being able to spend the holidays with family and celebrating the birth of Christ.
