Day 3 - Iowa to Indiana

By day three we were pretty sick of driving. We had made it far enough that there were more chances to stop and see something, so we were able to split up the driving a lot more. I don't think I drove anymore for the rest of the trip. But I don't think Mitch minded because he didn't exactly fit comfortably in the passenger seat. It was a little too far forward from everything in the back seat.
We started the day driving into Illinois
We made a stop at Starved Rock State Park. There are some cool waterfalls there. But we didn't see any, because there had been no rain. No rain = No waterfalls. Go figure. It was a nice break though!
 Next, we drove into Chicago!!
Right by the Chicago Bears stadium. Pretty interesting how it's constructed on the outside.

We ended up parking in a really expensive parking garage. But when we had our car completely full of our possessions, we decided it was better to be safe than sorry.
We walked around Millennium park where there are garden areas and this huge fountain.

For some reason Mitch took a picture of this Lincoln, even though now we can go see the real monument any day. Oh well!
This interesting structure is known as "the bean". Cool how you can see everything reflected in it!
We happened to walk by this and stopped to see what everyone was looking at when a loud explosion went off! They were filming some movie on the street below!
Then we ate real deep dish pizza at Gino's East. Another place featured on the Food Network and it was REALLY good!
On our way out of Chicago we passed the White Sox stadium.

Driving out of Chicago was pretty crazy but not terrible. I had the camera ready for the border, with the lense off, and barely got it in the right setting ... just in time to completely miss the "Welcome to Indiana" sign because I never turned ON the camera!! Dumb. That's why we don't have an Indiana picture.
Before we stopped for the night we stopped in North Bend, IN where Notre Dame is. Mitch wanted to see the campus. I tried to remember things from when I went to soccer camp there. But honestly, it was before my Sophomore year in high school, I didn't remember much. Unfortunately, it was rainy, so campus was pretty deserted. But we still walked around and enjoyed it.
